We have evidence of the existence of this Society as early as 1715, as indicated by the catalogue record in the GBV German Union cat. for the following title: XVI neu-erfundene und approbierte Arcana als sichere und in schweresten Kranckheiten vor andern dienliche Medicamenta von einigen Membris der ... Societät der christlichen Liebe und Wissenschaften oder Charitatis et Scientiarum, nach dem Autore Societas Christiano-Johannea gennenet, welche ... fundirt ist in Sachs. Naumb. Henneberg. (Schleusingen : Göbel, 1715).
We have evidence of the this Society as late as 1785, as indicated by the catalogue record in the GBV German Union cat. for the following title: Uiber den Tod : zum Gedächtniß des ... M. George Adolph Mehners, treuverdienten Stadtpredigers zu Dresden, welcher am 29. December 1784 im Herrn seelig entschlief / im Namen der Societät christl. Liebe und Wissenschaften von M. Gottfried Winkler, Archidiaconus und Mittewochsprediger an der Kirche zum heil. Kreuz zu Dresden, und der Societät Mitgliede. (Friedrichstadt, gedruckt bey Gotthelf August Gerlach, [ca. 1785]).
