1784	According to the Arts & Heritage section of the Perth & Kinross Council (PKC), the Society was founded in 1784 and was active in research and collecting from that time, and throughout the 19th century; it evidently disbanded in 1914, since it handed its building and collections over to Perth Town Council in that year.
