This area is concerned with "independent journals" - that is, with journals that were not published by scholarly societies. In point of fact, in the early years of their existence, the independent journals served primarily as a vehicle for reviewing works of original reseach that were located in monographs or in the journals published by scholarly societies.

According to Bolton, p.424, #3430, this title was edited by C. C. André (and from 1846 by Frz. X. Hlubeck).

The record in the GBV German Union cat. has the following note: "Beteil. Körp. früher: K. u. K. Mährisch-Schlesische Gesellschaft des Ackerbaues, der Natur- und Landeskunde zu Brünn" This suggests that, at some point early on, the above mentioned society was involved in this journal.
