This date is supported by p.12 of
Genner, where we also learn that this Society
was founded by Johan Clemens Tode (1736-1806), Matthias
Saxtorph
(1740-1800), and Henrich Callisen (1740-1828).
Tode was also involved in the founding of several other Copenhagen
societies:
Kirurgiske Privatselskab (1771-1783),
Københavnske Medicinske Selskab (1772-1872), and
Societas Philiatrica (1787-1791).
Saxtorph also founded another Copenhagen medical society:
Societas Disputatoria Medica Hauniensis (1785-1787).
Other information on the history of this Society is given on pp.12-14 of
Genner.
By the time this society had ceased in 1785, some bad feeling
had evidently grown up between Tode and Saxtorph.
This appears to have been the reason behind the founding by Saxtorph in
1785 of the
Societas Disputatoria Medica Hauniensis, and the founding by Tode in
1787 of the
Societas Philiatrica.
The Society does not appear to have published any journals.
